Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the Chachan website, beta program, and mobile application. Chachan is currently a public TestFlight beta for compatible Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses and iPhone.
Our AI, speech, and infrastructure providers may change during development. We will update this policy before a material change takes effect and before broader public distribution.
Data we collect
Beta signup information
If you join the beta list, we collect your email address, the signup time, and a limited campaign source such as “Reddit.” Providing an email is optional; you may install TestFlight without joining our mailing list.
Voice and conversation content
When you activate Chachan and speak, your audio and related conversation content are transmitted to the services needed to understand your request, generate an answer, and play that answer through your glasses. Chachan is not designed to continuously record voice while inactive.
Approximate location
If you enable approximate location, Chachan may use coarse location to answer requests such as weather or nearby places. Location is optional and is not required for general questions.
Remembered conversations
If you enable conversation memory, Chachan may retain conversation details so later responses can use prior context. If memory is off, conversation content may still be processed transiently to answer the current request and for limited reliability or security needs.
Device and diagnostic information
We may process app version, device and operating-system type, glasses connection state, session events, error reports, and crash information to operate and improve the beta. Apple separately processes TestFlight information under Apple’s own terms and privacy policies.
How we use data
- Provide voice requests, responses, follow-ups, and interruptions.
- Deliver beta access, essential notices, and occasional Chachan updates.
- Provide local answers when approximate location is enabled.
- Provide personalized continuity when conversation memory is enabled.
- Diagnose failures, protect the service, and improve reliability.
- Respond to support, privacy, and legal requests.
We do not sell personal information and do not use Chachan data for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Retention and deletion
We retain beta signup information while the beta is active and for as long as you choose to receive updates. We remove it when you unsubscribe or request deletion, except for limited records needed to honor the request, prevent abuse, or comply with law.
Remembered conversations are retained until you delete them, disable memory where that control applies, or ask us to delete them. Non-remembered conversation content and diagnostic data are retained only for the time reasonably necessary to complete the request, operate the beta, investigate incidents, and meet legal obligations. Backup deletion may take additional time.
Your choices
- Use Chachan without enabling approximate location.
- Turn remembered conversations on or off in app settings.
- Decline marketing email or unsubscribe from future updates.
- Revoke microphone or location permission in iOS Settings.
- Request access, correction, or deletion of information associated with your email.

Security, international processing, and children
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No transmission or storage method is completely secure, particularly in a pre-release beta.
Chachan and its service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
Chachan is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as Chachan develops. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date and, when appropriate, communicated to beta participants.
