The short version
Chachan collects nothing. No account, no analytics, no servers of our own. It has no permission to use your microphone or your location, and it cannot read your conversations.
That isn’t a promise about restraint — it’s what the app is. Chachan’s whole job is to notice a tap on your glasses and open the assistant you already have. The conversation happens between you and that app.
What Chachan does
- Holds a media session so a button press on your Bluetooth glasses reaches it. Winning that button requires playing audio, so Chachan plays one second of silence — nothing audible, nothing recorded.
- When the button is pressed, opens ChatGPT’s voice mode.
- That is all of it.
What Chachan never sees
- Your voice. Chachan has no microphone permission at all — check the app’s permissions and you will not find one. The assistant does the listening.
- Your questions and the answers. They pass between you and ChatGPT. Chachan is not in that path and has no way to read it.
- Your location. No location permission is requested.
- Your contacts, photos, files, or anything else on the phone.
The permissions it does ask for

| Run at startup | So the tap still works after you restart your phone, without having to open the app. |
What is stored on your phone
Two things, on the device only, never sent anywhere:
- Whether you finished the first-run screens, and whether you have paused it.
- A short diagnostic log of Chachan’s own actions — “tap received”, “opened ChatGPT” — containing nothing from your conversations. It is capped in size, overwrites itself, and is deleted when you uninstall the app.
The other app
Chachan opens ChatGPT, made by OpenAI. Anything you say from that point is covered by OpenAI’s privacy policy, not this one.
Children
Chachan is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
